Choosing a CCaaS platform: Genesys Cloud CX, Amazon Connect or Five9

A practical comparison of the three platforms we train on — where each one fits, and what it means for the skills your team needs.

Contact centre architecture diagram

Most organisations do not choose a Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS) platform on features alone. They choose on fit: the ecosystem they already run, the pace they want to move at, and the people they can hire or train to operate it. Here is how the three platforms we teach compare on that basis.

Genesys Cloud CX

A broad, mature platform with deep routing, workforce management and reporting. Architect — the flow designer — is powerful and rewards people who learn it properly. Good fit for larger operations that want one platform for voice, digital and WFM.

Skills your team needs: Architect flows, routing and queues, data actions, scripts, analytics, administration.

Amazon Connect

Pay-as-you-go, tightly integrated with AWS. Contact flows are quick to stand up, and the real power comes from Lambda, Lex and Contact Lens. Good fit for teams already on AWS who want to build rather than configure.

Skills your team needs: contact flows, routing profiles, Lambda/Lex integration, Contact Lens, CTR analysis, instance administration.

Five9

Strong on outbound and blended operations, with a well-regarded dialer and supervisor tooling. Good fit for sales and collections-heavy contact centres.

Skills your team needs: IVR and call flow design, campaign and dialer configuration, supervisor tooling, reporting.

The common thread

Whichever platform you pick, the gap is rarely the software — it is people who can operate it. That is the gap our training programmes are built to close, with tracks for new entrants, working professionals and students.
